Storms, Wind and Falling Temperatures | Weather
MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF)- The threat for high wind within the
heavier rain has diminished, but windy conditions will continue area-wide this
afternoon even after the rain has ended.
A line of strong storms will push through this morning. A quick burst of wind 40 to 50 miles per hour will accompany this line.
While isolated severe weather is possible the greatest risk for seeing damaging wind and a few tornadoes remains to our south.
Outside of any storms we'll see a very windy day. A Wind Advisory is in effect through this evening. South winds will turn to the west behind our cold front and increase to 20-30mph this afternoon. The wind could gust between 40 and 50 miles per hour in some areas today!
And if the strong storms and windy conditions weren't enough, we are also expecting colder air arriving this afternoon. Temperatures near 60 this morning will drop into the 40s by this afternoon. The strong wind will make it feel colder.
Temperatures will drop into the 20s tonight and with a continued W/NW wind around 15 to 25 miles per hour it will feel very cold by morning. Wind chills by 6am Friday morning will be way down in the teens!
