The following branches of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library system will remain open during daytime business hours today:

Parkway Place Mall will be open Tuesday, May 3rd from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

All Regions Bank branch locations in North Alabama are closed Thursday

Due to power outages caused by Wednesday's severe weather across the area, all Regions Bank branch locations in North Alabama, including Huntsville, the Shoals, Marshall County and Morgan County, are closed.

Customers are encouraged to visit www.regions.com for updates on branch openings and closures and to bank online. Customers may also call the Regions Bank customer service center at 1-800-REGIONS for information on branch closures, account balances and for other assistance.

Madison holds growth plan meeting

The city of Madison will host its final growth plan meeting tonight at City Hall.

It will start at 6:30 and run until 8:30 p.m. The city says it wants to create a vision to handle the city's growth and enhance the quality of life for its residents.

City leaders want your input. The meeting is open to the public.

Ricky Thomason will be preforming Thursday, April 7th at 8pm at the Flying Monkey Theater.  There will be a 7pm meet-and-greet before the preformance.

Dixie Derbt Girls season opener

Dixie Derbt Girls season opener

Opening the 7th season for Huntsville's Dixie Derby Girls, 'Dismember the Alamo' will feature two regulation bouts- The Rocket City Rollers (Huntsville's B-team) vs. the Burn City Rollers (Auburn, AL) and DDG's Raging Rocket All-Stars against the Alamo City Rollergirls (San Antonio, TX). The season kick off will take place April 9th at the Von Braun Center's south hall.

The Rocket City Rollers will square off first against Burn City at 5pm, the first match-up between the teams. The RCR finished last season with a win against the Chattanooga Rollergirls in September, a team that recently took down the Burn City Rollers. This bout will mark the regular season skating debut for fresh meat graduates and new RCR teammembers Fluffy, Ta'naku Down, Dispatchher, Disgrace Kelley, Sawblade Sindy, and Marley Mayhem.
