James Clemens athletic director accepts job in GA | People
James Clemens High School in Madison is down an athletic director.
The current athletic director and football coach, Bill Stewart, was hired as the director of safety, security and activities in Jackson County, Georgia.
Stewart has been with James Clemens for a year.
“We wish Coach Stewart and his family success as they move back home and open a new chapter of their lives,” Dr. Dee Fowler said. “My initial impression of Coach Stewart was that he cared more about molding and shaping young men in to men of character than he did about winning and losing. Every day of his tenure in Madison City reinforced that first impression.”
Offensive Coordinator Clint Woodfin was named interim athletic director until a replacement is found.
Stewart reports to his new job Feb. 1. Principal Brian Clayton hopes to begin interviews for Stewart’s successor within several weeks.
