HEMSI delivers donated toys to kids in need | News

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A HEMSI crew will deliver dozens of Christmas gifts to a group of children in need Tuesday morning.

An ambulance filled with wrapped toys will drive to the YMCA Child Care Center in downtown Huntsville with sirens ringing and lights flashing.

HEMSI has participated in the "HEMSI Cares" program for years. HEMSI paramedic Stiles Clarke said the turnout has never been better. Employees donated about 60 toys this Christmas season.

Each gift was donated by HEMSI employees during their holiday party earlier this month.

The United Way of Madison County collaborated with the effort. Volunteers with the group organized and wrapped every donated toy.

The crew and ambulance will deliver the toys at the Downtown Preschool location on Vernon Street at 10:30 a.m.
