To improve the cleanliness, health and safety of Madison, curbed city streets will be swept beginning Monday, March 14th.

To minimize the inconvenience to motorist, the major roads will be swept at night beginning at 8:00.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" On Monday, Jan. 17, the 25th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. Day becoming a federal holiday, people across the country will be working to answer that question.

In 1994 Congress designated the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday, observed the third Monday of January, as a national day of service and charged the Corporation for National and Community Service with leading the effort.
