Two Madison high school rivals are working together to save lives Sunday afternoon.
Cheerleaders from both Bob Jones and James Clemens High Schools are hosting the “Two Teams One Community” blood drive on Sept. 8 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. This special blood drive will take place at LifeSouth Community Blood Centers’ new Madison headquarters, located at 8190 Madison Blvd.
These school rivals will be working together just two days after facing each other on the football field at Madison City Stadium on Sept. 6. While there will still be competition, with fans and students trying to out-give, the real winners will be area hospitals.
“We hope to see a lot of red, white and blue and Carolina blue and navy in the donor center that Sunday afternoon,” said LifeSouth North Alabama District Director Jason Hodges. “It should be fun, and it’s certainly a worthy community project for the Jets and Patriots.”
