Legion seeks volunteers for vet flag tributes | Community Spirit
The American Legion Post 229 in Madison is inviting the public to join them in placing flags on the graves of veterans buried in city cemeteries Saturday, Nov. 2 at 9 a.m.
The cemetery locations are:
- North and south sides of Mill Road behind the fire station
- Hughes Road beside the municipal complex
- Madison Boulevard west of Publix
In continuation of the remembrance, the flags will be replaced with wreaths on Dec. 7 at 9 a.m., which will then be removed on Jan. 4. Volunteers for those two dates are invited as well.
If you have an opportunity to help on any of the three days listed, please contact Post 229 by Oct. 31. You can also meet them the morning of Nov. 2 at the Madison Community Cemetery on the north side of Mill Rd.
