"Safety-on-the-job" poster contest

In honor of the American Society of Safety Engineers' (ASSE) 9th annual kids'  'safety-on-the-job' poster contest and ASSE's 100th anniversary, Lamar Outdoor Advertising, in conjunction with CBS Outdoor and Clear Channel Outdoor, generously donated 15 large billboards featuring 11 winning posters in the hometowns of the young artists, some towns with multiple billboards of one winner. This was also in support of the annual North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week that took place May 1-7, aimed at increasing awareness of how to stay safe on the job.  This is the third year in a row Lamar has supported NAOSH Week efforts, the poster contest and in bringing pride to the communities, as the billboards are located countrywide.

International Space Development Conference career fair

International Space Development Conference career fair

The ISDC career fair will be held Friday, May 20th from 10am to 5pm at the East Hall 2 at the VBC.

The public is invited to attend and is free!

Two correspondents from the NHK General Bureau for America are traveling to the conference to effort a story about the space shuttle retirement, but more importantly on how the space program has affected generations of families. They will also be interviewing other companies that are attending or speaking at the conference.

The career fair is a featured activity of the National Space Society’s International Space Development Conference, however, it is a separate venue from the conference exhibit hall. Huntsville Space Professionals and Next Step in Space have joined to bring this opportunity to Huntsville to help mitigate the aerospace contractors who have lost their jobs.
